As the first school in the north to receive a hydration station, the Alexandra Secondary School was eager and ready. The station’s sponsor, Wholesale Express, is owned by old scholar, Rinaldo Jordan. He was eager to give back to the school which molded him and countless family members.
Conveniently placed in the school cafeteria area, this location was the perfect choice as students would have an easy time choosing the healthier option when searching for a refreshing beverage, especially since the water was free for all to consume.
Principal, Mrs. Cheryl Gill shared that Alexandra has a strong tradition of encouraging students and staff to live a healthy lifestyle, and in more recent years, have been very successful in getting students to see water as the preferred drink. She was also happy for the opportunity to reduce the school’s carbon footprint and to contribute to environmental protection that this Hydration Station provides.
