Installed October 2024
The smiles and applause of the children when the new station was unveiled by Rotoplastics Barbados representative, Leon Layne, along with Hydrate Caribbean staff, were truly encouraging for everyone in attendance, underscoring the importance of accessible clean water for student well-being and educational success.
Excitement buzzed throughout the schoolyard as long, snaking lines of students with reusable water bottles in hand, stood ready to fill up with cool, purified water. Many of them could be heard saying how refreshing each cup was, as they took many trips back to the hydration station to fill up again!
By sponsoring this hydration station, Rotoplastics Barbados is setting an example for sustainable initiatives in schools, where healthy habits are encouraged from an early age.
“We were very elated about having this project and doing this project with one of our neighbours, the Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School”, said Leon Layne, Operations & Sales Manager of Rotoplastics Barbados. “We found it a good opportunity to let everyone know that we are interested in our future, and what better way to do it than to keep them (children) hydrated, so they can learn, mature properly and then be good citizens to the world at the end of the day”.
